FY 2026 Hunters Creek Swim Season is About to Commence!!!!
Happy Monday Hurricanes!
It’s that time again when I start popping up in your inbox! 😊 Your Hurricane parent committee is starting to plan for our 2026 swim season. We are still working out details but wanted to let you know registration will open up in a few weeks!
In the meantime, we ask that you all spread the word on how awesome our swim team is and how much fun it’s been for your kids (and parents)! Please help spread the word….let friends, neighbors, classmates and anyone else know how awesome it would be for them to join us this summer! As a reminder, you DO NOT need to be a member of the HC Swim and Racquet Club to swim with us (although it would be cool if you were) and you DO NOT need to live in the neighborhood!
We will soon be posting signs on the 3 entrances/exits (Huebner, Lockehill Selma and George) of our neighborhood as a reminder.
We are also needing two volunteers for our parent committee. We are seeking volunteers for the following positions:
Volunteer Coordinator Assistant (To assist our current Volunteer Coordinator, Kaidan)
Meet Manager
As the meet manager, you are responsible for ensuring we have everything set-up for the two home meets such as ribbons, coordinating with the other team rep, and the official judge. You will also be the POC for setting up the pool area the night before (you will have parent volunteers assist you). For the volunteer coordinator assistant, you will be assisting Kaidan to ensure we have all of our roles filled and touching base with volunteers. The great thing about volunteering as a parent committee member is that it fulfills your 3-time volunteer obligation! Please reach out if you have any questions.
Also, for our returning parents, please think about volunteering for the stroke and turn (S&T) judge. You do have a take an online course (you will be reimbursed by the HC club for the training) but you will have the best seat in town! Last year, we only had a handful of S&T judges and they had to volunteer more than the 3 minimum requirement. With their commitment, we were able to proceed with the meets. Each team is required to have S&T judges at the meet. The more the better it would be to split the meet/shifts!!
We know life is busy but please keep in mind the swim team runs on parent volunteers and cannot be successful without them and the season is only 2 months long!
I know how important planning is so I wanted to give you dates so you can put on your calendar now!!!! If anything changes, I will let y’all know!
