It’s that time again Hurricanes!! And of course I begin this season with a LONG email! 😊 

The 2024 swim season is gearing up and your parent committee has been working out the details and planning for this upcoming season. While we are still working out some details we wanted you to know how excited we all are and that registration opens MARCH 1^st. Below is the link where registration will be found:

The parent committee ask that you all spread the word on how awesome our swim team is and how much fun we all have as a community! Let friends, neighbors, classmates and anyone else know what a great time you all have and how awesome it would be for them to join us this summer! As a reminder, you DO NOT need to be a member of the HC Swim and Racquet Club to swim with us (although it would be cool if you were) and you DO NOT need to live in the neighborhood! We will be posting signs throughout the neighborhood as a reminder that it’s that time of the year again!

We will more than likely ONLY have evening practices like we did last year, however, this could change depending on the coach’s availability. The practices would be Monday-Thursday evenings. As far as the time goes, we are still working that out and will be based on the # of registered swimmers per age group. More details to follow.

As the years go by and kids get older, time for parent committee members eventually comes to an end so we are asking for volunteers for the following positions:

Meet Entry/Scorer

Concession Coordinator

We currently have one parent who is responsible for the meet entry & scorer position, but we do need someone else to assist her and learn the responsibility so when she wraps up her time as a parent committee volunteer, we can have someone trained in that role. It's also great to have two parents for these two roles.  For the concession coordinator, you will only be responsible for the two home meets we host and ensuring we have the goodies to sell! The great thing about volunteering as a parent committee member is that it fulfills your 3-time volunteer obligation! Yay!! Please reach out if you have any questions.

Some important dates to put on your calendar:

Swim registration opens March 1^st - we will be inviting Swim Freak to the party to try on and purchase swim suits and any accessories your child may need

Kick off party – April 28^th

1^st swim practice would be the first week of May (will send out email when confirmed)

Mock meet – May 21^st

Team pictures – May 29^th

Swim meets – June 1^st, June 8^th, June 15^th and June 22^nd

Champs meet – June 30^th

End of Season Party – July 1^st
