MOCK MEET/COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP/TEAM PICTURES
Good morning Hurricanes!
Although we were unsure about the weather, it worked out in our favor and we were able to pull off the mock meet! Thank you to all who came out! It was a learning experience or refresher for everyone and a huge success! Let’s give a big shout out to our parent volunteers. Y'all make this fun and easy when there are so many willing to lend a hand or two!!! We cannot do it without YOU! And of course another HUGE shout out to our fantastic Coaches! You showed patience and support and the kids really do appreciate that when jumping into the water! And of course our Hurricane swimmers…….HIGH FIVES’ ALL AROUND FOR Y’ALL! You all did such a great job out there and make it look so easy! There was great community spirit in the air this evening!
COMMUNITY CLEAN UP IS THIS THURSDAY, 5/18 (during practice 5:00-8:00)
The Hunters Creek Swim & Racquet Club board is counting on the support of its members and swim team families to help get the pool area in tip-top shape to kick off the 2023 season.
We’ll be cutting back trees (not live oaks), raking leaves, pulling weeds, cutting palms and much more!
We need your help – both with hands-on help and tools. We’ll need blowers, brooms, clippers, hedge trimmers, rakes, garbage bags, extension cords, etc.
The official time of the event is 5:00-8:00 – but (of course) anyone is welcome to help us get the job done during ANY of the swim team practices – IF YOU’RE THERE ANYWAY, WHY NOT PITCH IN?!The more that help, the quicker it’ll get done!
We'll gladly provide documentation of hours contributed for students/scouts, etc. that are tracking volunteer hours.
Why, you may ask, do we do this ourselves? Why not hire someone to get the job done? We believe in the power of community – and are committed to doing all that we can to keep membership prices affordable. The HCSRC boasts a larger pool and more amenities (diving boards, full clubhouse with kitchen/fireplace, certified guards, swim lessons, tennis lessons/leagues, six lit tennis courts) at a lower price than our surrounding neighborhoods, but is dependent on membership and community support to keep it viable.
Lastly, attached is our 2023 Season Hurricane Group Picture. They came out great and thank you to our parent volunteer, Kaidan, for taking it. You are free to download, print the photo.
Go Hurricanes!
Monica
