We need volunteers to serve as "Stroke and Turn Officials/Judges" as part of your 3-shift volunteer obligation.

This is the only volunteer position that involves a little training - you'll attend a short "certification" training (1.5 hours) via Microsoft Teams provided by the league to learn the rules of each stroke and what exactly constitutes a disqualification. There is no charge for it and once you sign up, the link will be emailed to you. The online training takes place on May 17^th or May 23^rd (you do NOT need to attend both) at 6:30 pm. Another option would be to complete the training via strokeandturn.com and email us your completion certificate. There is a charge for the class but the swim club will reimburse you the expense if you send us your completion certificate and receipt.

Generally, at each meet, each team provides 2 stroke/turn judges per 1/2 of the meet to ensure the meet is judged fairly and consistently. The stroke/turn judges report to the meet referee for final disqualification decisions.

This is a critical volunteer position for our team and is essential for the meet to be run smoothly and fairly. The bigger "pool" we have of trained judges, the less each of them is asked to work.
